the pace is not too bad on the outer boulevard. -- outer loop. there is a crash reported on the eastbound lanes of route 50 near route 197 in bowie and one on southbound 301 coming south of central avenue near trade zone avenue. police were responding for that accident. the wet pavement slows everybody down this morning. keep that in mind. we have signal lights on flash downto 16th at harvard street and a crash reported on wisconsin avenue at western avenue. that initially reports that a cyclist has been struck. 270 south, just volume delays and stretches south in urbana and high hyattstown past 109 and the scales. an accident noh of triangle moved on to the left shoulder for early delays coming out of quantico to stafford to ma it into prince william county. andrea and mike, back to you. >> thank you, beverly. the ravens may have gotten a win last week thanks to a questionable call by the replacement refs but the refs are gone now. >> baltimore hosted the first game since the regular refs

decided to come back. ravens taking on the browns. a 63-year-old interception return by baltimore's carey williams is the play of the night. there he goes through the house. ravens beat the browns 23-16. >> the headline this morning is the return of the refs. kristin fisher is live in our satellite center with more on that. sounds like an action movie. >> reporter: it does. when was the last time that you saw referees tting a standing ovation? most time they're booed or heckled but not last night. check out the reception they received in baltimore just before kickoff. cheers and a standing ovation for the referees. that may be a first in the history of football. and people throughout the game held up signs. look at that one. "finally we get to yell at real refs. welcome back." these guys got the rock star treatment. this all happened less than 24

hours after an agreement was reached between the n.f.l. and the referees union after nearly a year of negotiations. the two sides finally reached a compromise on pensions, salaries. fans were ecstatic. coaches relieved. no one was happier about the return of the real refs plan the players. here's redskins lorenzo alexander and steven bowin. >> i say hallelujah. hallelujah. thank you lord we have the old refs back. >> you always say you don't miss something till you go without it. handling these replacement refs the last couple of weeks has kind of been difficult for us during that time. >> reporter: we all know even the real refs can be frustrating at times. how did they do their first game back? pretty good. there was one controversial pass interference call but other than that, a pluses all around. they're being credited with bringing credibility and a good flow back to the game. the fans couldn't be happier.

you better believe they were sounding off on twitter last night. i'll have all reaction from twitter during the game coming up half an hour at 6:30. >> the honeymoon is almost over. live in our satellite center this morning for that update. thank you. well, mortgage giant fannie mae says it will look into some foreclosure cases to see if anything can be done to reverse them. it's in response to a protest yesterday at both fannie mae and freddie mac. protesters want policy changes that would allow for a reduction in princies to the current market value of homes to top evictions and allow residents to buy back homes at the current market value. >> we did it willingly as veterans to serve our country. to come back home and have other people in this country try and take homes away from veterans, it's not going to happen [ inaudible ] well, starting today,

police can give you a breathalyzer test if they suspect you're driving drunk in the district. police stopped giving those tests two years ago in d.c. because of inaccurate equipment and it caused hundreds of tests and drunk driving convictions into question. the feds gave the city a dis $1 -- $150,000 grant to get the equipment in order so they could start giving the breathalyzer tests again and that starts today. we have a commuter alert now. another weekend, another mess on metro. starting tonight no service on the green line between branch avenue and southern avenue. it begins at 10:00 and goes through sunday night. shuttle buses will get you around where you need to go, but it will take an extra 40 minutes most likely to plan on that. another closure on the orange line. no service between vienna and east falls church. shuttle buses will be there as well. yes, again, another 40-minute delay. plan on that. expect delays on the red and yellow line, too, because they are single tracking in parts of those lines to get some repairs done. coming up on 6:06. jessica doyle is watching your

out. the problem is with the moisture from last night, the clear skies, light winds, behind it we've got the clearing. stafford a quarter mile visibility. all the areas west are seeing fog. we have a dense fog advisory issued till 10:00. look at this. fauquier county west to i-81 and the shenandoah valley. some of these visibilities are going to be near zero over the next couple of hours. temperatures out west also a little bit cooler. that's helping the fog to form. low 60s there. mid- to upper 60s just about everywhere else. here in d.c. we're looking at 67. outside on our michael & son weather camera, decent visibility with mostly cloudy skies, calm winds and high humidity. so our forecast, we are watching a front that's sagging south of us. today could see a shower or storm return late, 80 degrees. we're going to get some sunshine once we get rid of the fog. tonight 50s to maybe 60 in town, but a better day tomorrow. we'll be 72. i think any showers will be southern virginia, not near us. pop-up shower can't are ruled

out sunday, 74. monday looks good, too, 75 with showers likely by tuesday. let's check in with beverly farmer. she has timesaver traffic. busy out there on the wet pavement. outer loop of the beltway is slow gone into silver spring. there was the early morning crash just west of georgia avenue before connecticut moved on to the left shoulder. that's the good news. delays continue here from new hampshire avenue through the work zone and on toward georgia avenue. if you travel into northwest, chevy chase area, ongoing crash western avenue, wisconsin avenue. this involve add cyclist struck -- involved a cyclist struck. a lot of equipment on the scene. still some activity in the intersection to work around. connecticut avenue may be a better bet into northwest in the meantime. dealing with a crash in prince george's county on the stretch of livingston road just a little north of scataway road at taylor avenue. they've been clearing up a trash trade zone. eastbound 66 volume building in manassas in centreville inside the beltway. you see a little more volume typically at this time sliding out of the hov rules to head

tweets, for a fun time. he's closing down the account now that the real refs are back. >> calm down, right. very good. thanks, kristin with that live update from our newsroom this morning. in other news, the man accused of beating a capitol hill man in a robbery admit they did it. now all three are being held in jail without bond. d.c. police say the men attacked thomas maslin six weeks ago. he had been to a nationals baseball game and went to a nearby bar. on his way home he was robbed of his phone, beaten and left for dead near eastern market. >> i think it's really a relief that they got him. >> a phone. a phone. a phone. it's just despicable. >> maslin is still in the hospital. he's not yet able to walk or feed himself and he's now blind in one eye. pepco and its main union will be back at the bargaining table this afternoon. wednesday the ibew local 1900

rejected what pepco called its final offer in these contract talks. it said no by a 5-1 margin. the union is upset with a plan to put part-time employees in pepco's call center and what the union calls a takeover of health care benefits. pepco rejects the health care claim. but if talks do breakdown, the union could authorize the first strike since 1985. it is 6:36. jessica is back with another your money report. a local business is stepping up to the plate when it comes to keeping met free running for the playoffs if the games run late. >> it talks about the love of d.c. which is its home base and it's putting its money where its mouth is. it will underwrite up to two hours. it will allow metro to provide after hour service during the playoffs. that will be sundays through thursdays when metro closes at midnight meaning riders won't be stranded if games go late.
